April 10, 2012

POP 101, Coastal Carolina University’s contemporary music ensemble, will stage its spring concert on Wednesday, April 18, at 7:30 p.m. in Wheelwright Auditorium.

Past POP 101 concerts have paid tribute to summer & beach music, the music of Woodstock and the sounds of Motown. This year’s theme, "Signature Songs," will feature career-making hits from the '50s to the present day. POP 101 is under the direction of CCU instructor of music and director of the saxophone studio, Dan O’Reilly. O’Reilly also directs the Jazz After Hours Big Band and the After Hours Improvisation Combo.

Ticket prices are: General admission, $9; CCU and Horry Georgetown Technical College students, $3 (one per valid ID); CCU and HGTC faculty/staff, $3 (two per valid ID); alumni/senior citizens, $7 (ages 65 and older); Osher Lifelong Learning Institute members, $7; Youths, $3 (ages 11 to 17).
