Coastal Carolina University will host a Global Education Forum on Tuesday, April 24, at 6:30 p.m. at the Wall Auditorium in the E. Craig Wall Sr. College of Business Administration. The event is free and open to the public.

The forum will address the constantly changing world and how technology is virtually dismantling the geographic boundaries that once defined social, cultural, political and economic connections. The panel will also discuss how teachers can involve students in learning how to identify and assess current global information, and how this active involvement benefits not only the individual, but society as a whole.

The panel includes three presentations:

* “Developing the Future Global Citizen: Trends, Perspectives, and Opportunities for Individuals and Institutions” by Darla Domke-Damonte, professor and assistant dean of international programs at CCU.

* “Global Education in a Post American World” by Pamela Martin, associate professor of politics and international studies and director of the international and global studies minor at CCU.

* “The Shifting World of World Language Education in the 21st Century” by Ruta Couet, world languages education associate for the South Carolina Department of Education.

The forum will close with a Q-and-A session.

The event is presented by the Spadoni College of Education Consortium for Educational Research and Evaluation.
