Coastal Carolina University's Symphonic Band will present "Rally 'Round the Flag" on Monday, Oct. 8 at 7:30 p.m. in Wheelwright Auditorium. The program, which is free and open to the public, will feature music that celebrates American unity. The concert will pay special tribute to the U.S. Armed Forces and the victims of the recent terrorist attacks on the United States.

The ensemble will perform traditional American band music featuring works by John Philip Sousa, Stephen Foster and Karl King. Contemporary patriotic music and hymns will also be performed.

Directed by James Tully, assistant professor of music at Coastal, the ensemble features more than 30 Coastal students.

Guest narrator for the event is Ed Piotrowski, chief meteorologist at WPDE TV-15.
