The Myrtle Beach Area Small Business Development Center located at Coastal Carolina University is sponsoring a free tax seminar for owners of small businesses on Thursday, Sept. 20, from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. at Atlantic Hall.

The seminar will be led by representatives of the Internal Revenue Service, the South Carolina Department of Employment and Workforce, and the South Carolina Department of Revenue. Sessions consist of four hours of federal tax issues, one hour of state tax issues, and one hour of employment and workforce issues.

Topics include which federal and state forms to file, recordkeeping, what type of corporation to form, how to make payments online, employee/independent contractor and many other subjects to help the business owner comply with state and federal tax laws.
