CCU's Fall Choral Concert set for Oct. 9

Coastal Carolina University's Fall Choral Concert, a joint performance with CCU and St. James High School, is scheduled for Tuesday, Oct. 9, at 7:30 p.m. in Wheelwright Auditorium.

The University's Chamber and Concert Choirs, under the direction of Terri Sinclair, will perform with St. James High School Bel Canto and Chorale, directed by Sandra Paschal.

The program will feature works by Franz Schubert, Moses Hogan and Eric Whitacre. The CCU choirs will combine with the St. James Choir for two grand finale selections.

CCU Concert Choir, the University's oldest musical group, is a large mixed choral ensemble that is open to any student without an audition. The University's Chamber Choir is an advanced vocal ensemble with a repertoire encompassing all periods of Western music history, with emphasis on a cappella chamber music from the Renaissance period and the 20th century.

Sinclair, director of choral activities at the University, earned a bachelor's degree in piano performance from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, and a master's degree in choral conducting from Florida State University. Sinclair received her Doctoral of Musical Arts degree in choral conducting from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro.

Tickets may be purchased from the Wheelwright Box Office at 843-349-2502, or prior to the performance. The box office hours are Monday through Friday between 9 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. General admission is $9; seniors and alumni, $7; teens, CCU and Horry-Georgetown Technical College (HGTC) students and faculty, $3 (with valid ID); and children (10 and under) are free and must be accompanied by an adult.
