Digital storyteller Moffett to speak at CCU

"The Silent History" is essentially a fictional e-book with reader interaction. Sold as an app, this serialized novel is written and designed specifically for the iPhone and iPad. It uses the devices GPS and touch-screen to communicate and collaborate with the reader in this sprawling story/scavenger hunt about a generation of children born without language. "The Silent History" made news last October for being selected as one of six projects for "The New Frontier Story Lab," a creative program with the Sundance Institute.
Moffett has also published two collections of short stories. The first, "Permanent Visitors," won the John Simmons Short Fiction Award and was long-listed for the Frank O'Connor International Short Story Award and the Believer Book Award. His latest collection, "Further Interpretations of Real-Life Events" was released in March 2012 from Harper Perennial.
