Brown Bag Lunch Lecture Series focuses on moral imagination

February 19, 2013

"Developing the Moral Imagination through Literature, Art and Music" is the topic of this spring's Brown Bag Lecture Series in Animal Ethics at Coastal Carolina University. The first lecture in the series, "Virginia Woolf on Beauty, Difference and Loving Life," is scheduled for Thursday, Feb. 21 at noon in the Thomas W. and Robin W. Edwards College of Humanities and Fine Arts, room 101. Admission is free.

The lecture will be led by Eva Kort, a lecturer in CCU's Department of Philosophy and Religious Studies. Kort will describe how themes in Woolf's literary work contribute to the development of the moral imagination with respect to animals.

The Brown Bag Lecture Series is sponsored by CCU's Jackson Family Center for Ethics and Values. For more information, contact the Jackson Family Center for Ethics and Values at 843-349-4149.
