CCU Theatre and Dance companies combine for showcase

Dance and musical theatre students of Coastal Carolina University will combine their talents in a display of various singing and dancing styles for two performances on Sunday, April 21, at 3 and 7:30 p.m. in Wheelwright Auditorium. The public is invited.

Students will perform songs and dance sequences from popular Broadway shows such as "West Side Story," "Footloose," "Newsies," "A Chorus Line," "Les Misèrables," "Oklahoma!" and more.

The showcase is made up of the 16-member musical theatre company and the 13-member dance company. Barbara Hartwig, CCU's resident artist in dance and choreography, directs and choreographs the showcase, and Michael Gribbin, associate professor of theatre and musical direction, is the music director.

General admission tickets are $3. CCU and Horry Georgetown Technical College students can receive one free ticket per valid ID. CCU and HGTC faculty/staff can receive two free tickets per valid ID.

Wheelwright Auditorium is located near Spadoni Park at 107 Founders Drive on the CCU campus.
