The second annual Post-Reassignment Scholars' Symposium is scheduled for Thursday, May 2, in Brittain Hall, room 101, from 1 to 5 p.m. Nine Coastal Carolina University faculty members will present research conducted while they were on scholarly reassignment in 2012.

- 4 p.m., Steve Hamelman, "The Eco-Periodization of American Literature"

The Scholars' Symposium, organized by the Faculty Welfare and Development Committee, aims to enrich the intellectual life of the university, foster the interdisciplinary exchange of new ideas, and showcase the diverse research accomplishments of Coastal Carolina University's faculty.
