Dates set for 2014 Women's Leadership Conference & Celebration of Inspiring Women

August 1, 2013

The fourth Women's Leadership Conference & Celebration of Inspiring Women has been set for Wednesday, Feb. 26, and Thursday, Feb. 27, 2014, at the Sheraton Myrtle Beach Convention Center Hotel in Myrtle Beach.

The Women's Leadership Conference seeks to educate, motivate and challenge women to lead change in their own lives, their communities and the world. The 2014 program builds upon the previous three highly successful conferences and will feature notable speakers from the fields of entrepreneurship, business, media, politics and more.

The Celebration of Inspiring Women, to be held the evening of Feb. 27, will honor remarkable individuals for their outstanding contributions to our state, region, nation and world. The Celebration of Inspiring Women awards were created as an important and lasting way to recognize the incredible achievements of women who are from South Carolina or have made the state their home. Since the program's inception, 20 women have been recognized, including 2013 recipients media owner Rebecca Wesson Darwin, educator Muriel O'Tuel, former S.C. Senator and U.S. Congressman Elizabeth Patterson, renowned opera singer Sarah Reese, and S.C. Supreme Court Chief Justice Jean Toal. For more information on past recipients, please visit wiplconference.com.

The annual Women's Leadership Conference and Celebration of Inspiring Women is a signature program of Women in Philanthropy and Leadership for Coastal Carolina University. Proceeds from the conference support WIPL scholarships for CCU students and other women's leadership initiatives on campus and in the community.
