A farewell ceremony for the Freedom Schooner Amistad will be held Sunday, Nov. 18 at 1:30 p.m. at the Georgetown Landing Marina. The Bucksport Men's Choir and the Bah Choir will perform at the event, which is free and open to the public.

The first 200 people to arrive for the ceremony will receive an Amistad handkerchief to wave the ship and its captain and crew goodbye.

The Amistad will sail to Savannah, Ga., where it will dock for two weeks before departing for Florida.
