CCU to host Waccamaw Water Quality Data Conference

Scientists from Coastal Carolina University and the Waccamaw Riverkeeper Program are hosting the Waccamaw Water Quality Data Conference on Thursday, Sept. 19, from 8:30 a.m. to noon at the Burroughs & Chapin Center for Marine and Wetland Studies, Room 100. The public is invited to attend.

Topics that will be covered include:

- The Waccamaw River and its importance throughout history -- Ben Burroughs - Numeric nutrient criteria development in S.C. rivers, streams and estuaries -- Casandra West, S.C. Department of Health and Environmental Control

- Update from Horry and Georgetown counties, stormwater programs - Updates from Waccamaw Riverkeeper Christine Ellis

The conference is hosted by the Waccamaw Riverkeeper program, CCU's Waccamaw Watershed Academy and the Coastal Waccamaw Stormwater Education Consortium. A complete schedule is attached.

The Burroughs & Chapin Center for Marine and Wetland Studies is located at 290 Allied Drive in Conway.
