CCU business college readies for Wall Connections event

Wall College Connections, a signature event sponsored annually by the E. Craig Wall Sr. College of Business Administration at Coastal Carolina University, is scheduled for Tuesday, Oct. 15, in the Wall College of Business. This year's theme is "Entrepreneurship and Innovation: Turning an Inspiration into a Vocation." This event is free and open to the public.

Various educational sessions will be conducted by faculty, staff and students from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m., along with a poster competition at 3 p.m. in the Wall Boardroom.

A panel discussion with successful entrepreneurs will be held at 11 a.m. in the Johnson Auditorium. Panelists include Blake Sloan, founder/CEO of Sloan Realty Group, who was featured in Forbes Magazine Top 30 Under 30; Dennis Andrew, co-owner of NNOS Studios, Adoration LLC, The Weathered Rock and Coffee Cave; and Todd Woodard, CEO of SiteTech Systems, an independent research and analysis company that serves the real estate and housing industry.

Brent Freeman is the keynote speaker for this year's Wall College Connections. He is the founder of Roozt.com, an online marketplace that features fashion-forward brands with a focus on giving back to community.

Freeman, a former commodities trader, believes in a business model that benefits its employees and has a positive impact on the community and the environment. He also teaches social entrepreneurship to low-income high school students in Los Angeles.

The keynote session will be at 6 p.m. in Wheelwright Auditorium; doors open at 5:30 p.m. Students need to bring their student IDs.
