The Pi Kappa Phi-Eta Pi chapter of Coastal Carolina University presented a check for $20,000 to the Will Andrews Foundation at CCU's Homecoming football game on Nov. 2. The donation was made on behalf of chapter adviser Scott Hucks of Conway.

"We are proud to be a part of such a service-oriented fraternity," says Brian Forbus, CCU's alumni president.

Hucks, an assistant solicitor for the 15th circuit, was diagnosed with multiple sclerosis more than three years ago. The diagnosis could result in a lost of his motor functions within the next five years. To receive treatments, Hucks is attempting to raise $150,000. With the help of the Will Andrews Foundation, an organization whose aim is to fundraise for local community members affected with a life threatening disease, Hucks has raised more than $100,000 locally, bringing his total to $120,000.

Making the check presentation during the game were Forbus, CCU Alumni president; Pi Kappa Phi president Chris Brochu; Bobby Moore of the Pi Kappa Phi alumni chapter; and head football coach Joe Moglia.

The brothers of Pi Kappa Phi have also pledged to donate $30,000 to CCU for the patio renovations of Atheneum Hall, scheduled to begin January 2014. Once the makeover is completed, the patio area will be called Pi Kappa Phi Patio at Atheneum Hall.
