CCU’s Symphonic Band presents 'The Danserye'

Coastal Carolina University's Symphonic Band will present a program of Renaissance dance music, "The Danserye" for its fall concert on Thursday, Dec. 5, at 8:30 p.m. in Wheelwright Auditorium. General admission tickets are $15.

"The Danserye," is a collection of 16th century dance music in a variety of forms compiled by composer Tielman Susato in 1551. Conducted by James Tully, the band will also perform music from Johan de Meij's monumental work for wind band, "Lord of the Rings." Dan O'Reilly, CCU lecturer of music, will accompany on saxophone during selected songs from the soundtrack of the film "Catch Me If You Can."

Tickets for CCU/HGTC students and children (10 and under) are $5; alumni, OLLI members, senior citizens, teens, faculty and staff are $10.
