Life, legacy of Martin Luther King Jr. celebrated at CCU

The Rev. Michael A. Blue will be the featured speaker for the Martin Luther King Jr. Celebration on Wednesday, Jan. 15, at 7 p.m. at Coastal Carolina University's Wheelwright Auditorium. This event is free and open to the public with a ticket.

Blue is a bishop and the pastor of the Door of Hope Christian Church. He is a member of the South Carolina State Board of Education and the author of "Building Credibility in Leadership: Principles for Secondary Leaders."

The Martin Luther King Jr. Celebration is a campuswide event that promotes unity and diversity while highlighting King's triumphs and struggles in the fight for civil rights. Members of the Office of Multicultural Student Service's Leadership Challenge Initiative will also participate in the celebration. A memorial presentation is scheduled and the CCU gospel choir, Coastal Inspirational Ambassadors, will perform at the event.
