Pianist Ruby Morgan to perform Jan. 26

Pianist Ruby Morgan, Furman University professor of piano, will perform at Coastal Carolina University's Edwards Recital Hall on Sunday, Jan. 26, at 4 p.m. The public is invited with the purchase of a ticket.

Morgan has been described as "one of the outstanding pianists of the South," performing solo recitals and chamber music throughout the eastern United States and Europe. She made her orchestral debut at 15 with the Brevard (N.C.) Music Center Orchestra and has since performed such diverse works as the Bartok Concerto No. 3, Saint-Saens Concerto No. 2 and Liszt Concerto No. 2. She has performed extensively as a member of the Heritage Chamber Players, with frequent broadcasts on South Carolina Public Radio.

General admission tickets are $5. CCU and Horry-Georgetown Technical College students and faculty tickets are $3. Children are admitted free with a ticket and must be accompanied by an adult. Tickets may be purchased from the Wheelwright Box Office prior to the performance or Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.

The Recital Hall is located in the Thomas W. and Robin W. Edwards College of Humanities and Fine Arts at 133 Chanticleer Drive W. on the CCU campus. Parking is available beside Edwards College or at Brittain Hall adjacent to Edwards.
