Student jazz combo recital held at CCU

An evening of jazz standards and contemporary improvised music by the premier Coastal Carolina University student chamber ensemble will be held on Wednesday, March 19, at 7:30 p.m. in the Edwards Recital Hall on the CCU campus. This event is open to the public; tickets are required. Ticket prices are: $5 general admission; $3 CCU/HGTC students, faculty, staff; children are free.

The CCU Student Jazz Combo is comprised of the students from the larger CCU Jazz Ensemble. The combo features Zach Douglas on trumpet; Liz Kelly on vocals and guitar; Zac Patton on guitar; McKinley Devilbiss on bass; and Wade McMillon on drums.

The performance will include a wide variety of music including compositions by Duke Ellington, John Coltrane, Dave Douglas, Horace Silver, Jay-Z, selections from the Great American Songbook and original compositions and arrangements.

The Recital Hall is in room 152 of the Thomas W. and Robin W. Edwards College of Humanities and Fine Arts located at 133 Chanticleer Drive W. on the CCU. Parking is available beside Edwards College or at Brittain Hall adjacent to Edwards.
