Tempo54 Drumline returns to CCU

March 10, 2014

Tempo54 featuring drumlines from Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCU) will be held at Coastal Carolina University on Saturday, March 22, at 5:30 p.m. in the HTC Student Recreation and Convocation Center.

As a unique style of entertainment, drumlines showcase precision, technique and style, which have very intricate moves. The event is open to the public with the purchase of a ticket.

College drumlines participating are Benedict College, South Carolina State, Winston-Salem State and North Carolina A&T. They will perform freestyle acts, including tricks with their drumsticks and acrobatic movements with their instruments. The Golden Delight, NC A&T's auxiliary dance team, will also perform. The event will open with the Crestwood High School drumline, and there will be a step team from Lower Richland High School.

Tempo54 is sponsored by CCU's Office of Multicultural Student Services. Tickets are $5 for CCU students and children under 12, and $7 for all others.

HTC Center is located at 104 Founders Drive on the CCU campus in Conway.
