Charleston Symphony Orchestra flutist Regina Helcher Yost will perform at Coastal Carolina University on Sunday, March 23, at 3 p.m. in the Edwards Recital Hall. This event is open to the public. General admission is $5.

Yost and CCU flute professor Amy Hardison Tully will collaborate to present a recital of virtuosic solo and duo works for flute accompanied by CCU pianist Daniel Francis.

Yost, the principal member of Charleston Flutist, LLC, is currently in her 14th season as second flute/piccolo of the Charleston Symphony Orchestra and 18th season as assistant principal flute/piccolo of the Colorado Music Festival in Boulder, Colo. She earned a bachelor of music degree in flute performance from the Cincinnati College Conservatory of Music and a master of music degree at Indiana University. She was a member of the National Orchestra of New York, a training orchestra with a concert series in Carnegie Hall. Yost has performed with the symphony orchestras in Honolulu, Knoxville and St. Louis. She has also participated in the Tanglewood Music Festival, Pacific Music Festival, Chautauqua and the Sarasota Music Festival.

Tully is currently principal flutist with the Long Bay Symphony in Myrtle Beach. She has also performed with the Charleston Symphony Orchestra, the Orlando Philharmonic Orchestra, the Wilmington Symphony Orchestra, the Fayetteville Symphony Orchestra and the Thalian Hall Opera Theatre Orchestra. She earned a bachelor's degree in flute performance from the University of North Carolina-Wilmington, an M.M. degree in musicology from Northwestern University, and the Artist Diploma and D.M.A. in flute performance from the University of South Carolina. She is an assistant professor of music at CCU, where she teaches flute and music history and conducts the CCU Flute Choir.

Francis earned a bachelor of music degree in piano performance from Bob Jones University and received a master of music degree in piano performance from the University of South Carolina. In 2000, he made his orchestral debut with the Long Bay Youth Symphony. He is a teaching associate in CCU's Department of Kinesiology, Recreation and Sport Studies.

Tickets are $5 for general admission, $3 for CCU/HGTC Students/Faculty/Staff and children are free when accompanied by adults.

The Recital Hall is located in room 152 of the Thomas W. and Robin W. Edwards College of Humanities and Fine Arts at 133 Chanticleer Drive W. in Conway.
