Choral, jazz concert set at CCU

The Coastal Carolina University Concert Choir, Chamber Choir and Jazz Combo will present the seventh annual "Isn't It Romantic?" concert on Tuesday, April 22, at 7:30 p.m. in Wheelwright Auditorium.

The show is directed by CCU music faculty members Frances T. (Terri) Sinclair and Matt White. As in the past, there will be multiple student solos, both vocal and instrumental, in the concert. This year the choirs will sing an acapella arrangement of Cyndi Lauper's hit song from the 80's, "Time After Time," and Adele Adkins' theme song from the latest James Bond film, "Skyfall." They will also perform several more classic jazz selections including "My Romance," "Lullaby of Birdland" and "Skylark."

 Sinclair is an associate professor of music and director of choral activities at CCU. She holds a doctor of musical arts degree in choral conducting from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro, a master of music degree in choral conducting from Florida State University, and a bachelor of music degree in piano performance from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. 

White directs the CCU Jazz After Hours Big Band and teaches trumpet, recording technology and jazz/commercial music related courses at CCU. White holds a bachelor of music in jazz studies from the University of North Florida and an master of music degree and doctoral of musical arts in studio music and jazz from the University of Miami Frost School of Music.

Wheelwright Auditorium is located at 108 Spadoni Park Circle in Conway. Tickets are $5 for general admission, $3 for CCU/HGTC students/faculty/staff and fro for children who are accompanied by adults.
