CCU's Adams is featured author for ˜Words" series

Author Cara Blue Adams, former co-editor of The Southern Review, will read from her work for Coastal Carolina University's "The Words to Say It" visiting writers series at 4:30 p.m. Tuesday, April 29, in the James J. Johnson Auditorium in the E. Craig Wall Sr. College of Business Administration. The event is free and open to the public.

Adams, assistant professor of English at CCU, is best known for her essays and short stories. She earned a bachelor's degree from Smith College and an MFA from the University of Arizona, where she also taught creative writing.

Adams work has been featured in journals such as Narrative, The Kenyon Review, Ploughshares, The Sun and Epoch. She has also been honored with The Kenyon Review Short Fiction Prize and was named one of Narrative's "15 Below 30." Adams worked as co-editor at The Southern Review, the distinguished literary quarterly, from 2011 until June 2013, when she decided to pursue her teaching career at CCU.

The Wall College is located at 119 Chanticleer Drive E. on the Conway campus. A reception with refreshments will follow the reading.
