CCU’s Spectrum Concert to showcase bands

Coastal Carolina University's annual Spectrum Concert will take place at 7 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 12, in Wheelwright Auditorium. The concert is part of CCU's Family Weekend.

The concert will feature an hour of uninterrupted music by groups such as CCU's Symphonic Band, the Spirit of the Chanticleer Marching Band Drum Line, the Coastal Low Brass Choir, CCU Steel Band, CCU Saxophone Ensemble, the Chanticleer Brass Quintet, the Coastal Flute Choir, the CCU Guitar Ensemble and the CCU Jazz Ensemble. Styles will vary between classical, jazz, show tunes and more. The grand finale will feature the CCU Symphonic Band performing John William's "Liberty Fanfare" selection.

Family Weekend is an annual tradition at CCU. This year's festivities are scheduled for Friday, Sept. 12, through Sunday, Sept 14. Scheduled events are a pre-game tailgate picnic, Chanticleer football, and an on-campus golf tournament.

Tickets are required for this event. To reserve a ticket, call the Wheelwright Box Office at 843-349-2787. General admission is $5; CCU and HGTC students are $3; and children ages 10 and under are admitted free (accompanied by an adult.) CCU's Wheelwright Auditorium is located on 108 Spadoni Park Circle in Conway.
