CCU to host 15th annual holiday concert

Coastal Carolina University's Chamber and Concert Choirs, joined by the CCU Saxophone Ensemble, will perform an annual holiday concert on Monday, Dec. 1, at 7:30 p.m. at First United Methodist Church in Conway. General admission is $5.

The 15th installment of the CCU Holiday Concert will be presented by the CCU Concert and Chamber Choirs, directed by Terri Sinclair, and the CCU Saxophone Ensemble, directed by Dan O'Reilly.

The program will feature classical pieces with familiar seasonal and holiday favorites, including the beloved "Home for the Holidays." Selections by Tomas Luis de Victoria, Giovanni Gabrieli, Randall Stroope, John Rutter and Irving Berlin will be performed, along with three King's Singers arrangements and two Christmas spirituals. In addition to the choral performances, several solos and small group selections will be included. In keeping with tradition, the concert will conclude with the singing of Handel's "Hallelujah Chorus."

Sinclair is director of choral activities at the University. O'Reilly is a music instructor and directs several of the music ensembles at CCU.

Admission for CCU and Horry Georgetown Technical College students is $5 and $10 for CCU and HGTC faculty/staff, alumni, OLLI members and senior citizens. Children ages 1-10 are $5.
