Archarios wins Best in Show at national meet

November 20, 2014

"Archarios," Coastal Carolina University's student art and literary magazine, won Best of Show for Literary Magazines at the Associated Collegiate Press and College Media Advisers conference held recently in Philadelphia.

"Archarios" also came in second in the national Pinnacle Awards for Literary Art Magazine of the Year at the same conference. Both contests considered collegiate entries from all over the United States and Canada.

"I am very proud of Emilee Rosen and Erica Burkett, editor and art director for the winning issue," says Archarios adviser Paul Olsen, CCU graphic design professor. "They have set the bar high for this year's staff." Other staff members of the 2014 magazine were Amber Eckersley, Mathew Parise, Brandon Alston, Alesha Selph, Cayla Norton, Lindsay Hickman and Dexter Gore.

Attending the collegiate awards conference were students Ashley Loper, art director for "Archarios" for 2014-2015, and Courtney Hammett, "Archarios" editor. Christopher Johnson, art director for The Chanticleer student newspaper, also attended.

"Archarios" is CCU's student-produced literary and art magazine that comes out once a year.
