West Georgia poets to speak at CCU’s Words to Say It Visiting Writers series

Visiting poets Chad Davidson and Gregory Fraser will read from their works on Thursday, March 5, at 5:30 p.m. in the James J. Johnson Auditorium on the Coastal Carolina University campus. They are the first featured writers in this semester's Words to Say It Visiting Writers Series. This event is free and open to the public.

Davidson is the author of "From the Fire Hills" (2014), "The Last Predicta" (2008) and "Consolation Miracle (2003), as well as a professor of literature and creative writing and director of the School of the Arts at the University of West Georgia.

Fraser is the author of three poetry collections: "Designed for Flight," (2014), "Answering the Ruins" (2008) and "Strange Pietà" (2005). His poems have appeared in The Paris Review, The Southern Review and The Gettysburg Review, among others. A recipient of a grant from the National Endowment for the Arts, Fraser is a professor of English and creative writing at the University of West Georgia as well.

Both writers co-authored "Analyze Anything: A Guide to Critical Reading and Writing" (2012) and "Writing Poetry: Creative and Critical Approaches" (2009).

The Johnson Auditorium is in Room 116 of the E. Craig Wall Sr. College of Business Administration, located at 119 Chanticleer Drive E. in Conway.
