‘The Vagina Monologues’ to be performed at CCU

A performance of Eve Ensler's "The Vagina Monologues" will take place on Saturday, April 11, at 7 p.m. in the James J. Johnson Auditorium at Coastal Carolina University. General admission is $5.

This award-winning play based on interviews with over 300 women, celebrates women's strength by sharing their stories and encouraging women to reclaim their bodies and desires. Each monologue deals with different aspects of the feminine experience and promotes female empowerment and individuality.

Faculty staff members include Monica Bell and Robin Russell; student cast members are:Alex Barrow, Bethany Bobik, Shannon Fitzgerald, Lyndsay Hall, Caroline Pendleton, Anna Sheridan, Myisha Thomas and Keondra Walker. Directors of the performance are Miquela Rivers and Taylor Wright.

The Johnson Auditorium is in Room 116 of the E. Craig Wall Sr. College of Business Administration, located at 119 Chanticleer Drive E. in Conway. Tickets cost $5 for adults; $4 for senior citizens, alumni and CCU faculty/staff; and $3 for CCU students. Proceeds will benefit the Rape Crises Center of Horry and Georgetown counties.
