Billboard No. 1 Rapper Wale to perform at HTC Center

April 10, 2015

Grammy-nominated rap artist Wale, whose current album is No. 1 on the Billboard 200 charts, will perform at Coastal Carolina University's HTC Center on April 20 at 8 p.m. (doors open at 7 p.m.). Admission to the concert, which is sponsored by CCU's Office of Student Life, is $20.

A Washington, D.C.- based hip-hop artist, Wale (pronounced WAH-lay) recently released "The Album About Nothing," which debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 albums chart. It's his fourth release based on Jerry Seinfeld's popular sitcom. Seinfeld collaborated with Wale on the album, contributing narration that comments on the rapper's lyrics.

Wale's hit song "Lotus Flower Bomb" won the BET Viewer's Choice award in 2012 and was also nominated for a Grammy in the Best Rap Song category. His other albums include "Attention Deficit," "Ambition" and "The Gifted."
