Students can register for women's leadership event

"Local Ladies in Leadership," an inaugural event for the Local Leader Series at Coastal Carolina University will be presented Friday, April 24, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Myrtle Beach Education Center. Students are encouraged to register for the free event, which is limited to 50 seats.

Terri DeCenzo, executive director of Women in Philanthropy and Leadership and co-chair of the Women's Leadership Conference and Celebration of Inspiring Women, will give the keynote address. Other speakers include psychologist Dr. Kristin Bohan; WPDE news anchor Allison Floyd; Dr. Petra Gheraibeh with Bay Orthopaedic Associates; Pam Martin, CCU professor of politics and geography; Stella Mercado of Mercom Corp.; and Barb Royal of Kids Can Give Too.

Topics will include inspiration, confidence in the workplace, motivation, finding your passion, taking risks, building relationships and building interpersonal skills. Students will have the opportunity to interact with successful women through panels and workshops, listen to speakers discuss what motivates them and discover way to empower themselves to reach their goals.
