Coastal Carolina University associate professor of physics Christopher Moore has been awarded a Fulbright Scholar grant to teach and study in the Czech Republic during the spring 2016 semester. He will contribute to the development of curriculum in both the Interactive Physics Laboratory (IPL) project and teacher training programs at Charles University in Prague.

The U.S. Department of State and the J. William Fulbright Foreign Scholarship Board made the announcement recently. Moore joins 15 other current CCU faculty and nine retired CCU faculty who have also received Fulbright awards. He is one of approximately 1,100 U.S. faculty and professionals who will travel abroad through the Fulbright U.S. Scholar Program in 2015-2016.

Moore earned a master's degree in science in applied physics and a Ph.D. in chemical physics from Virginia Commonwealth University. Before entering graduate school, he taught high school physics in the Richmond, Va., area. Before joining the faculty at CCU, Moore was an assistant professor of physics at Longwood University in Farmville, Va.
