Social and behavioral professionals invited to conference

The Conference for Social and Behavioral Professionals will be held Monday, Nov. 9, and Tuesday, Nov. 10, at Marina Inn at Grande Dunes in Myrtle Beach.

The conference, sponsored by Coastal Carolina University's Office of Executive Development and Continuing Education (EDCE), offers two days full of sessions on topics such as the difficult patient (a doctor's perspective) social and financial aspects of dementia, child abuse and neglect, geriatric depression, Obamacare, caring for the elderly, suicide risk assessment, technology for the mental health provider, pharmacology, comfort animals and more.

Featured speakers include CCU faculty and other experts from Grand Strand Health and the Medical University of South Carolina who have extensive knowledge and training in social and behavioral issues.

Cost of registration is $59 per session/course. Registrations will be accepted until the conference begins. Marina Inn at Grande Dunes is located at 8121 Amalfi Place, Myrtle Beach. Call 843-913-1333 to make a reservation.
