Coastal Carolina University is seeing early success with its initiative that offers guaranteed admission to South Carolina's top 10 percent of high school graduates. CCU launched the Top Ten Guarantee program in September 2014, and as a result, 101 new South Carolina freshmen who graduated in the top 10 percent of their high school graduating class enrolled at CCU. This population represents 10 percent of CCU's Fall 2015 freshman class of South Carolina students, a 14.7 percent increase over Fall 2014.

"It has been our goal to admit every qualified South Carolina student who applies to Coastal Carolina University," said David A. DeCenzo, president of CCU. "CCU's Top Ten Guarantee is one more way of assuring we do that."

"This is a great way to recognize the high-achieving students that we have in South Carolina," said Ralph Byington, provost of CCU. "We know that high school grade point average is a good predictor of success."

Current high school seniors interested in enrolling at CCU as freshmen in the fall of 2016 are encouraged to apply for the Top Ten Guarantee program. Requirements include a completed application, official high school transcript showing class rank and official standardized test scores.
