Saxophone ensemble to perform at CCU

Coastal Carolina University's Saxophone Ensemble Concert will take place on Wednesday, Nov. 18, at 7:30 p.m. in the Thomas W. and Robin W. Edwards College of Humanities and Fine Arts Recital Hall. General admission tickets are $7, with discounts available.

The CCU saxophone studio, under the direction of Dan O'Reilly, a lecturer in CCU's Department of Music, will perform a variety of jazz and classical compositions. Jazz pieces include pieces by Charles Mingus, Benny Golson, Lennie Niehaus and Dizzy Gillespie. Classical compositions will include selections by Mozart, Bach and Holst.

Members of the ensemble are Ryan Mason, Stephen Sartin, Riley Rabon, Chris Colon, Crystal King and Willie Newman. Special guests include Daniel Francis and Rebecca Rollins, accompanists, and Kenny Anderson, saxophonist.

Senior citizens, OLLI members, alumni, teens, and CCU/HGTC faculty and staff may purchase tickets for $5, and CCU/HGTC students and children may purchase them for $3. The Recital Hall is in Room 152 of the Edwards College, located at 133 Chanticleer Drive W. on the Conway campus.
