A performance of Eve Ensler's "The Vagina Monologues" will take place on Sunday, Feb. 14, at 3 and 7:30 p.m. in the Edwards Theatre at Coastal Carolina University. General admission is $5, and proceeds will benefit the Rape Crisis Center in Horry and Georgetown counties.

This award-winning play based on interviews with more than 300 women celebrates women's strength by sharing their stories and encouraging women to reclaim their bodies and desires. Each monologue deals with different aspects of the feminine experience and promotes empowerment and individuality.

Faculty, staff and students will perform, and Robin Russell, associate professor of theater, is directing the performance. Door prizes will be given.

The Edwards Theatre is in Room 117 of the Thomas W. and Robin W. Edwards College of Humanities and Fine Arts at 133 Chanticleer Drive W. on the Conway campus. Parking is available across the street and in the Brittain Hall lot adjacent to Edwards.
