CCU Symphonic Band members represented at SC Intercollegiate Bands

Nine student musicians from the Coastal Carolina University Symphonic Band were selected out of more than 300 statewide collegiate performers to play in the 2016 South Carolina College Band Directors National Association (CBDNA) Intercollegiate Band.

The two-and-a half-day event was held in Rock Hill on the campus of Winthrop University from Jan. 21 to 23. The 75-member ensemble was conducted by world renowned Eugene Migliaro Corporon, regents professor of music from the University of North Texas College of Music.

The students were: J.T. Abrams, euphonium, of Greer; Allyson Abbs, double bass, of Valencia, Penn.; David Chase, oboe, of Holden, Mass.; Stephen Healy, tuba, of Myrtle Beach; Chris Imes, clarinet, of Myrtle Beach; Allysha Lazar, trombone, of Raleigh, N.C.; Arieal Lesure, clarinet, of Little River; Noelle Mason, flute, of Myrtle Beach; and Johnny Richeson, percussion, of Woodbridge, Va.
