April 12, 2016

The Master of Business Administration (MBA) program at Coastal Carolina University ranked at the top of a list of 14 programs that have the best job-placement record among its graduates, according to a new ranking by the U.S. News & World Report.

According to the U.S. News Short List, 100 percent of May 2015 MBA graduates from CCU's E. Craig Wall Sr. College of Business Administration were employed within three months of graduation. CCU tied for first place with the University of Southern Florida. Others universities on the list include Rutgers, Louisiana State, Temple, Baylor and Ohio State.

"The high job placement rate among our MBA graduates is a reflection of the quality of the students, faculty and curriculum," said Barbara Ritter, dean of the Wall College of Business. "In all programs in the Wall College of Business, we are committed to translating learning into a significant return on investment for our students, and we are proud to be recognized as one of the top MBA programs for job placement."

The MBA program at CCU also ranked fourth in another recent study by U.S. News & World Report of the 10 programs with the highest percentage of underrepresented minorities. According to the report, 32.8 percent of the students enrolled in the program are minorities. The top schools in this ranking were Howard University (1), Clark Atlanta University (2) and the University of New Mexico (3).

Established in 2006, the MBA program at CCU currently has an enrollment of 56 full-time students and 34 part-time students.

A total of 129 business schools submitted job placement data to the U.S. News & World Report for the MBA survey. The U.S. News Short List is separate from the magazine's annual overall ranking and focuses on individual data points in specific areas of higher education.
