Southern comedian to perform at Coastal Carolina University

- Comedian Vic Henley, recently described as a "cross between Opie Taylor and Don Rickles," will perform Wednesday, Sept. 18 at 7 p.m. in the Wall Auditorium on the Coastal Carolina University campus. The event is free and open to the public.

- A former VH-1 veejay, Henley is known for his quick witted, good ol' boy humor and his talent for improvisation. He co-wrote "Games Rednecks Play" with Jeff Foxworthy and co-authored "Things You'd Never Expect a Southerner to Say."

- Henley has performed on "Comic Strip Live," "Evening at the Improv," "Caroline's Comedy Hour," "Stand-Up Spotlight" with Rosie O'Donnell, and other television comedy shows. He was a two-time winner on "Star Search."

- A native of Oxford, Ala., Henley graduated from Auburn University and worked as a stockbroker in Phoenix. His comedy career began when he won a comedy contest at a Phoenix nightclub.
