Coastal Carolina University offers Spanish class for golf course superintendents

January 14, 2003

Golf course superintendents who want to communicate more effectively with their Spanish-speaking employees will find the training they need in the workshop Survival Spanish for Golf Course Superintendents at Coastal Carolina University.

Classes will be Monday, March 10 and Tuesday, March 11 from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. at Coastal Carolina University. The course is $169 if registering on or before Monday, Feb. 24 and $189 after Feb. 24. There are only 14 slots available, so early registration is encouraged. Participants will learn functional language skills relating to Spanish commands, questions and phrases pertinent to daily interactions between golf course supervisors and their Spanish-speaking employees. The course will be led by Susana Russell, who has more than 25 years of experience teaching Spanish and English as second languages.

The workshop is sponsored by Coastal Carolina University's Division of Continuing Studies and the Carolinas Golf Course Superintendents Association.
