Coastal wins regional awards for publications

Four regional awards were presented to the Department of Marketing Communications at Coastal Carolina University for two of its publications, a magazine article and a logo design.

The Council for Advancement and Support of Education (CASE) made the awards at the recent district conference in Atlanta.

Receiving honors were the Coastal Carolina University Magazine (Doug Bell, editor; Rob Wyeth, art director; and Bill Edmonds, photographer), award of excellence; the newsletter Pathways (Jason Hughes for graphic design), special merit award; an article by Bell, award of excellence; and a logo designed by Wyeth, award of excellence.

The Coastal Carolina University Magazine also received a third place award from the S.C. Press Association in the category of magazine publishing improvement category.

CASE is the largest international association of educational institutions with more than 3,000 colleges, universities, independent elementary and secondary schools in 45 countries. Schools from Alabama, Florida, Georgia, Kentucky, Mississippi, North Carolina, South Carolina, Tennessee and Virginia were involved in the competition.
