Duo Piano Recital is April 13 at CCU

April 10, 2003

Two accomplished musicians will perform a Duo Piano Recital at 4 p.m. Sunday, April 13 at Coastal Carolina University.

Gary Stegall, a music professor at Coastal, and Nadine Deletaille, one of Belgium’s most distinguished performers and teachers of the piano, will be featured during the concert that will present the music of Claude Debussy, Maurice Ravel and Darius Milhaud.

Deletaille resides in Landen, Belgium where she performs and teaches the piano. She founded the Centre Musicale Font-Neuve in Montanroux, France, as a summer music training program and served as its director for more than 25 years. In 1997, she founded Tetra, a Belgian research group dealing with the fundamental application of anthropological theories to the study of music.

Stegall, who is also director of music at Precious Blood of Christ Catholic Church of Pawleys Island, received the performance diploma/prize of excellence from the Music Academy of Boitsfort in Brussels where he was a student of Deletaille. He has performed worldwide, having presented solo piano recitals at St. Martin-in-the-Fields in London, the National Gallery of Art in Washington, DC, the American Church in Paris and more. His concert schedule for next year includes recitals in Thailand, Vietnam, Singapore, Italy and Belgium.

The concert will be in the Recital Hall of the Thomas W. and Robin W. Edwards College of Humanities and Fine Arts. Admission is $10 general public, $5 students under 18 and seniors over 65. Call Wheelwright Box Office at 349-2502 for more information.
