Pianist Stegall performs at Coastal

Pianist Gary Stegall will be performing a recital at 7:30 p.m. Friday, April 18 at Coastal Carolina University. The recital is free and open to the public.

A Coastal music professor and worldwide performer, Stegall will be playing the works of Carl Czerny, Cesar Franck, Leos Janacek and Frederic Chopin. The concert will be in the Recital Hall in the Thomas W. and Robin W. Edwards College of Humanities and Fine Arts.

Stegall has performed at such prestigious venues as St. Martin-in-the-Fields in London, the National Gallery of Art in Washington, D.C., the American Church in Paris, and others. Next year he is performing in Thailand, Vietnam, Singapore, Italy and Belgium.

As a chamber musician, he has performed at Piccolo Spoleto and as a guest artist with the dePasquale String Quartet of the Philadelphia Orchestra. He has appeared as a solo artist with orchestras including the Los Angeles Solo Repertory Orchestra, the Washington Metropolitan Orchestra, the Charleston Symphony, Long Bay Symphony and others.

He is also music director at Precious Blood of Christ Catholic Church in Pawleys Island.
