Lifelong Learning courses offered this fall at Coastal

August 18, 2003

If you want to study the history of China, delve into the U.S. constitution, learn Spanish, practice the ancient art of tai chi or join a book club, the Lifelong Learning Society (LLS) at Coastal has a class - or several - for you.

LLS is an adult educational and enrichment program of Coastal Carolina University's Division of Continuing Studies that offers a wide variety of courses during the fall, from September through November. Classes are mostly held on the main Conway campus, but some are offered at extension sites in Myrtle Beach, Little River, North Myrtle Beach and Socastee.

The courses are designed to meet the needs of busy, active adults and are offered during day and evening hours. Early registration is recommended since many courses have limited enrollment.

Although you don't have to be a LLS member to take classes, members enjoy many benefits including reduced class costs, use of the campus library and free or student rate admission to cultural events on campus. Annual membership is $35 or $19 per semester.

Not sure what you want to take? Come sample the offerings from 9 a.m. to noon on Orientation - Course Sample Day on Sept. 5 on the second floor of University Hall. For more information or to register, call 349-2665 or visit Coastal's Web site at www.coastal.edu/learn. Detailed course descriptions and instructors are listed there.
