Lecture at Coastal to deal with health of pilots, strokes
Joyce S. Nicholas, an assistant professor in MUSC’s Department of Biometry and Epidemiology, will discuss “Strokes, Pilots and Autistic Children: The World of Epidemiology.” The talk is sponsored by AKD, Coastal’s chapter of the international sociology honor society.
Nicholas, who holds four degrees in her fields, including two master’s degrees in biomedical engineering and mathematics and a Ph.D. in biometry and epidemiology, has conducted extensive research on what causes death among commercial pilots, autism disorders in South Carolina and other developmental disabilities. Her articles have been widely published in medical publications.
