CCUs Georgetown Advisory Committee awards scholarships

Five Georgetown County students have been awarded scholarships by the Advisory Committee of Coastal Carolina Universitys Georgetown Higher Education Center.

The scholarship recipients, each of whom received a $1,000 award, are: Lori Beth Caulder of Andrews High School; Amos Dickerson of Georgetown High School; Katheryn McWethy of Carvers Bay High School; Jonathan Sharp of Georgetown High School; and Andrew Parks Wildes of Georgetown High School.

To be eligible for the high school scholarships, students must rank in the top third of their class and show evidence of school or community involvement. They also must submit an essay on their life goals as well as letters of recommendation.

All the students have been accepted at Coastal Carolina University and are planning to attend in fall 2004.
