Coastal Carolina University students organize 5K race

STRIDE, a Coastal Carolina University student running club, will host a 5K race on Saturday, April 17. The STRIDE “Move Your Hide” 5K race will begin at 9 a.m. in front of Coastal’s Williams-Brice Recreation Center and move through the Quail Creek neighborhood near campus. The entry fee is $10 for entrants (12 and under) and $15 all others.

Awards will be given to the top three male and female runners in the following categories: top three overall winners; ages 1-9; 10-14; 15-19; 20-29; 30-39; 40-49; 50-59; 60-69; and 70 plus. The first 50 entrants will receive a free race T-shirt.

STRIDE (Student Triathletes and Runners Into Developing Excellence) will donate 25 percent of the proceeds to the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society Team in Training.
