Staff Excellence Awards presented at Coastal Carolina

Jackie King and David Parker are the recipients of Coastal Carolina University’s 2003-2004 Staff Excellence Awards. The awards are presented annually to recognize exceptional non-faculty university employees.

King, administrative specialist in the Office of Admissions, received the Staff Excellence Award for Support Staff. She has worked at Coastal for nine years in the admissions area, and lives in Conway with her husband and child. She volunteers as a secretary for the Aynor Church of God.

Parker, director of Media Services, received the Staff Excellence Award for Professional Staff. He began working for Coastal full-time in 1979 and has been in his current job since 1997. He earned a bachelor’s degree from CCU in 1980 and a master’s in media arts from the University of South Carolina in 1983. He lives in Aynor, attends Aynor’s United Methodist Church and is a charter member and treasurer of the Aynor Volunteer Rescue Squad.

Others who were nominated for the support staff award included: Jodi Epps, Stephanie Hyland, Trish Brennan, Sharon Tully, Ken Capps, Trixie Harrington, Adrian Burgess, Tabatha Causey-Singletary, Clara Rogers, Helen Peagler, Barbara Scott, Judy Hawkins, Chris Martin, Bonnie Senser, Susie Harrelson and Sally Davis.

Professional staff award nominees were Regina Lee, Peggy Bates and Patricia Bennett.
