Veterans get in free to Chants baseball game Saturday

May 18, 2004

Veterans and their families get in free on May 22 as the Coastal Carolina University Chanticleers take on the High Point Panthers at Charles Watson Stadium on campus.

Pre-game ceremonies are at 1:30 p.m. when U.S. and South Carolina flags will be presented to Coastal President Ronald Ingle. The U.S. flag that is being presented has flown over the U.S. Capitol in Washington, D.C., and the South Carolina flag has flown over the state capitol in Columbia. The installation will perpetuate the memory of the men and women who have served in military service.

Veterans of Foreign War (VFW) and American Legion posts in the Grand Strand area are invited to attend the ceremony and baseball game, free. Anyone who has served or is serving in the military is encouraged to attend.

The ROTC unit from Carolina Forest High School will act as color guard.
