Coastal Carolina University announces new associate dean Judy Engelhard has been named an associate dean in the Spadoni College of Education at Coastal Carolina University. Her duties will include administration, outreach and graduate studies.
Enrollment event director named at Coastal Carolina University Amanda Craddock has been named director of enrollment events in the Office of Admissions at Coastal Carolina University.
Dina Hall's photographic landscapes to be on exhibit "Dina Hall: Landscape as Metaphor," new images by Murrells Inlet photographer Dina Hall, goes on exhibit in the Rebecca Randall Bryan Art Gallery at Coastal Carolina University from July 17 to Aug. 29. The exhibition is free and open to the public.

Volunteer Reception Center Training
A one-day training course developed by Volunteer Florida and Points of Light Foundation is scheduled for Tuesday, July 8 from 1 to 4 p.m. at Horry Georgetown Technical College Conference Center. Space is limited so call 349-6488 to register. Adriane LaRoza, executive director of Volunteer Manatee, Florida, is the presenter.

Baseball's McCully Throws Fog-Shortened Perfect Game in the Cape Cod League Nick McCully threw five perfect innings for Bourne in its 1-0 win over Orleans June 28.
Baseball's Doyle One of Three Finalists at Johnny Bench Award Banquet Dock Doyle spent the last two days in Wichita, Kan., attending the banquet to announce the winner of the 2008 Johnny Bench Award, given to college baseball's best catcher. While Doyle did not win the award, he had a great experience and met a Hall of Fame catcher.

Volleyball Announces 2008 Schedule The Coastal Carolina University volleyball team and head coach Kristen Bauer has announced its 2008 schedule that features four in-season tournaments, 12 home matches and two new Big South Conference opponents.
Women's Track and Field's Mensing and Veitch Earn Academic All-America Honors Felicitas Mensing was named a Second Team ESPN The Magazine Academic All-American while Marcie Veitch earned Third Team honors.
Women's Soccer Announces 2008 Schedule Coastal will face four teams that participated in the 2007 NCAA Tournament and have eight home games on the 2008 schedule, it was announced June 25.

Jennie Cassidy, director of Counseling Services, has assumed additional duties and is serving as the interim assistant dean of students in the Office of Judicial Affairs (formerly known as the Dean of Students Office). As the chief student judicial officer, she will adjudicate violations of the Code of Student Conduct.
Chris Donevant-Haines, assistant director of Student Activities, has been promoted to director of the Office of Student Activities and Leadership. Donevant-Haines will oversee student activities events, develop a co-curricular leadership program, advise the Student Government Association and provide leadership to the clubs and organizations.
Tom Woodle, associate director of Career Services, has been appointed interim director of Career Services. Woodle will provide leadership for the career development program, career counseling and placement. A search is under way for a permanent replacement.
Gary Stegall, associate professor of music, recently served as a guest artist at the Conservatorio Nacional de Música del Perú in Lima, from May 19 to 28. He gave a master class for students at the conservatory and performed a public recital of pieces by Scarlatti, Czerny, Kennan, Debussy, Chopin and Gershwin. Fernanco de Lucci Fernald, the director general of the conservatory, wrote Stegall that "...the valuable teachings transmitted by a maestro of your experience and rank will remain unforgettable for Peruvian students and musicians." After his engagement at the conservatory, Stegall travelled on to Cuscos and from there visited Machu Picchu, the lost city of the Incas.
