    Various project managers have provided the following updates on construction projects around campus:

    The Commons Expansion
    The installation of sheetrock and glass has been completed. Storm drains have been installed. Final completion - July 31

    Coastal Post Office 
    The contractor has completed the installation of the post office boxes, new walls, VCT and started installing the insulation and ceiling tile.

    Quail Creek Golf Course
    Replacing golf course hole signs over the summer. The storefront has been replaced at the snack bar area. The demolition on the clubhouse is complete, and remodeling has begun. Restrooms will be updated and some light fixtures in the main area replaced. Work is also under way on reconstructing the course greens. The contractor has been working on holes 10–18. Nine holes should be ready by the end of the month.
    Aug. 19– Substantial completion of project
    Sept. 18 – Final completion of project

    Wheelwright Sound Studio
    Project: Construct a Recording Studio in the existing sound studio, upgrade surrounding area and provide utility services. Estimated completion – late July.

    Central Cooling and Heating Plant
    A. Start construction – Sept.19 (estimated)
    B. Final completion – April 1, 2012 (estimated)

    Swain Science Building Annex Construction
    A. Start Construction – July 25 (estimated)
    B. Substantial Completion – Sept. 24, 2012 (estimated)
    C. Final Completion – Oct. 23, 2012 (estimated)

    Student Recreation and Convocation Center
    Substantial Completion: Dec. 3
    Final Completion: Feb 2, 2012

    Removal of Parking on Blanton Circle
    This project is scheduled for summer 2012.

    Parking Lot Improvements to Lot J, beside the EMS boiler room
    Finished.

    Kimbel Library / Information Commons Expansion/Renovation
    The project description includes the design and construction of an approximately 18,000 square foot addition to Kimbel Library adding an information commons area, which includes a student-centered study/reference/tutorial center available for students 24 hours a day. The project has been registered with USGBC for LEED NC 2.2.

    The water and temporary sewer lines were relocated / installed in front of the library. The remaining auger piles (15) were set. Benton Concrete is on site preparing pile caps and grade beams. Thomas & Hutton is to coordinate with GSWSA about tying in the sewer line to the grinder pump near Kearns Hall.
    April 11 – Construction began
    April 11, 2012 – Substantial completion of project
    May 11, 2012 – Final completion of project

    Academic Office / Classroom Building Construction
    Sept. 19, 2011  – construction begins (estimated)
    Sept. 19, 2012 – substantial completion (estimated)
    Oct. 19, 2012 – final completion (estimated)

    Intramural Field Lighting
    Aug. 5 – Substantial completion of project
    Sept. 4 – Final completion of project

    Lib Jackson Student Center – Existing building renovations
    Project description – Alteration and renovation of the first floor, east end interior area and lobby (approximately 5,000 square feet).
    Final Completion – (Estimated) July 19.

    Front Entrance Parking Lot
    Substantial Completion – July 30
    Final Completion – Aug. 14
