  • » Coastal Today set redesigned and built by CCU Facilities Department

Coastal Carolina University’s signature television program, Coastal Today, hosted by theatre professor Robin Russell, is about to undergo its own extreme makeover. The show will have all new visual elements – show opening, music and graphics – with new segments that showcase faculty and staff expertise and talents. Those elements are being developed by David Russell, Media Services production manager. The Coastal Today set has also been transformed, thanks to Ron Walker, who redesigned the new set, and the leadership of Joey Gore, Sandy Williams and Rein Mungo.

Facilities staff members, with their broad range of talents, are building the new set, which will incorporate strong images of the CCU campus and logo treatments. Photography was provided by Bill Edmonds, and photographic preparations were developed in the University’s graphics department. The final images were processed in the University sign shop and printed on large banner material. The entire set design, from concept through construction to completion, is an in-house CCU project.

The new Coastal Today program, complete with new set and show elements, will air in early February. Coastal Today airs on:
